Not necessarily a Bible box, but certainly beautiful! - as well as giving you a rare opportunity to work with a true modern master! Peter Follansbee, our leading Renaissance artisan and practical scholar of 17th-century woodworking, guides you through making a proper English valuables box, working just as he does at Plimoth Plantation.
Starting with an oak log, you'll learn how to rive, shave and join the stock and then switch over to more seasoned wood for the carving and construction of your actual box. This is a rare chance to learn "way-old-school-technique" for working with fresh wood. From the cleaving to the carving, Peter's myth-busting way with oak will change the way you work!
